Rivers Edge Outdoors is Chatham Virginia's premier spot to enjoy outdoor fun. They offer thrilling ATV and motorcycle trails. Different from other cross country trails, Rivers Edge Outdoors has trails that offer views of mountains, rivers and streams. Nine miles of single track bike trails await enthusiasts while a seperate five mile ATV trail awaits those with an ATV or RUV. If bringing an ATV, all vehicles must have no oversized tires or tires with aggressive treads. Children, just starting out will appreciate River Edge Outdoor’s half mile kids’ trail. They have 250 acres of land with fifty acres of open pasture land for those who are just learning. There is also five miles of farm roads for EZ riding. The total combined mileage of trail is about twenty miles. If you like to leave the ground, Rivers Edge Outdoors has a motocross track where you can get plenty of air.

Trail Types

All trails are clearly marked with colorful directional signs. To ensure each rider is on the correct path, trails are also marked by skill level signs. Trails here are suited for all levels of riders. In fact, many special events are held at River Edge Outdoors including VXCS Cross Country Races, Group Night Rides, Poker Run, Hare Scramble Trail Races, and Dealer/Factory Expos.

Dress Code

All riders must meet stringent dress codes. Created for your safety and protection, all riders must wear helmets.
Additionally, when trail riding, eye protection and over the ankle boots are required. For additional personal protection a chest protector, gloves, long sleeve shirt and riding pants are suggested.

Other Activities

Even if not a rider, Rivers Edge Outdoors offers something for everyone. If interested in watching others ride, spectator admissions are available. Whether choosing to ride or watch, after a day of riding, take advantage of other activities like canoeing and fishing in the Pigg River and on-site, primitive camping. Pricing and Hours of Operation

All new riders must register with Rivers Edge Outdoors and pay a $10 registration fee ($10 fee is waived for exclusive Trail Pass riders). Fees are $20 per rider for a day pass and an extra $15 for each additional second or third day. Family day passes are offered for $50 (must have at least 3 total adults and children in party) and spectator daypasses are $5. Premium memberships, club discounts and reduced group rates are available.

For those interested in camping, a $10 fee per night applies for primitive camping. Campers must register their entire party when paying camping fees. All persons interested in fishing must have a valid fishing license.

Rivers Edge Outdoors is open Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.; with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Riding season lasts year-round, however prospective guests are advised to call during foul weather, as trails may be closed. Maintenance and special events are other occasions where trails may not be available.
